I have just successfully upgraded the memory and the hard drive on a Sony Vaio VGN-S46GP/S with no problems

I found a really excellent on line tutorial for removing the necessary parts (link below)
    http://home.comcast.net/~nw_systems/vgnS.pdf

My problem is that I removed the left and right speaker plugs (very small white plugs) and can’t re-connect them; I think I may have broken something or removed them wrongly

Has anyone removed and replaced these speaker cables successfully?

When the top cover is removed from the Laptop known as the palm rest, the 2 speaker connector plugs are attached to the sound card (IFX-385) which can be purchased
The pictures I have seen showing the IFX-385 shows the 2 speaker plugs attached but without the speaker cables

If anyone has any information about how to connect or remove these speaker plugs or what I can do to reconnect the speaker plugs I would be extremely grateful.

I did it several times with my old S and never had any issues getting those connectors back in. Getting them out was a bit fiddly, but they always snapped back in with a little pressure. I suggest you get a magnifying glass and make sure you haven't bent a pin or something.
