Hi guys, I'm new to the forums but not a stranger to computer and/or notebooks. Although I haven't quite figured this problem out yet. Recently I purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ750n, and I've noticed that this computer runs VERY VERY hot.
The GPU runs at about 60 degrees celcius
The Two cores are running at about 52-55 degrees celcius.
The program I'm using to check the temperatures is Speedfan.

thats... not too bad... unless its nearing the 70-80 mark... the processor CAN run up to 100 degrees before burning out (obviously you dont want to do that but...).
Are those temps while idling or under load? -
Actually, that's not too bad at all. My current piece of junk laptop, a HP tx2000, has been running at 60C minimum and 85C under high usage. When it reaches approximately 90C it has been known to spontaneously turn off. Now that's a heat issue!
If it's really bothering you, I'd suggest propping the laptop up slightly to promote better ventilation for your notebook. It's as easy as finding some erasers of equal size/width, or bottle lids.
