Hi all,
I have a Sony Vaio VGN Z820G/B and the screen contrast is so strong it hurts your eyes after a just a few seconds of viewing. Blue links look purple-ish.
I have restored everything back to the defaults. I am think this is a screen problem - bad screen?
Any ideas? Thanks
M

Turn the brightness down?
-
Turning it down just makes it dark(like greyed out dark)
Why would blue links be almost a fluorescent purple? -
In Vaio control center there are some color options, are they set wrong? Is digital vibrance turned up too high? Any wacky color settings in the intel or nvidia apps?
You could also google and download a calibration file for your display? -
Can you point me in right direction for calibration file?
I looked but I dont get it? -
mobenzo, which screen have you got? FHD or HD? FHD is a wide gamut display (more than 96% of Adobe color space) so a bit more saturated colors is normal. The calibration file is there to 'calibrate' the colors for a more realistic color mapping. So let us know if we are talking about the 1920x1080 screen or not, so that we may provide a more appropriate suggestion/advice.

I am guessing based on this:
HD 1366x768
HD+ 1600x900
FHD 1920x1080
THAT IT IS HD+ - 1600x900
1600x900
