    Hello people,

I have a Sony Vaio VPC-SB2S9E unfortunely during repair procedure the motherboard got damaged (a pin near the power plug (one of those vertical plugs) is broken and I don't know how to resolder it since it's too small) so I think I need a new motherboard for it... unfortunely the motherboards with that part number (A1820705A) are too expensive or hard to find so I found on ebay a motherboard which it seems being the same exactly equal physically, same CPU's, same graphics, same ram, same plugs, same conectors everything in the same place, both are MBX-237 motherboards but it's for the Sony Vaio VPC-SC1A also the service manual for VPC-S series is the same. Will I have any issue installing this motherboard on my laptop? What can I do?
Thanks in advance for your kind help. :)

    With the best regards,

    Rfsapiens.

As long as both notebooks have the same size, it fits. VPCSB2S9E = 13,3", but VPCSC1A isn't the full modelcode I guess, check if it is also 13,3".
For example: VPCSE1E1E and VPCSE1X9E have 15,5". Their motherboards are also called MBX-237, but the connection to the Keyboard is different from VPCSB2S9E.
Furthermore, you won't be able to use your recovery- DVDs/partition anymore.

    Hello people,

I'm back. I was able to find on ebay a motherboard compatible with my laptop so now I have a VPC-SB1V9E and it's working perfectly The screen came back and it's like nothing ever happened I didn't have to reinstall any driver at all. Now I'm focused on other issues like the webcam that it wasn't working and it still doesn't and I don't know what to do exactly even with the service manual because on my laptop the plug that comes from the webcam is connected directly to the board. I opened the screen bezel and I saw that everything is well plugged. What can I do to see if the webcam is detected?
Also another issue I have is I have some lighter area on my LED with the size of a character the white is whiter but the colors in that zone are correct. The issue is almost unoticable. What could it be and is there anything I can do to fix it?

    With the best regards,

    Rfsapiens.

After a major hardware change like this, I strongly recommend doing a clean install. Get the drivers for the new motherboard and do the clean install.

    Hello people,

Thank you for your kind replies ;)
As you suggested I made a clean new install to accomodate the drivers for this new board VPC-SB1V9E and everything installed perfectly except the webcam that it's not detected. I contacted the store who sold me this board and they say that the board is 100% working so I decided to buy another webcam with another cable but the problem persists so in both motherboards, the new and the old the webcam didn't work, I installed the new board and the old webcam didn't work... Installed the new webcam and the same thing happens . It doesn't get detected...I know this laptops are full of bugs and very sensitive but I think I put the cable correctly as it only enters in one way. What do you think it should be? what should I do?

Also about the laptop LED screen, I was able to get to the rear part of it and I tried the suction cup trick on the back of it and it helped but I didn't push with too hard because I was affraid since this suction cup is very strong and if I pulled more it would start to create "air bubbles" on the plastic that would change the light on the screen so I stopped, but the fact is that when I put the suction cup on the light area on the back of the screen and I left it there, the white marks all disappeared... when I removed the suction cup gently they return as nothing happend. What do you think I should do to fix my screen?

Thank you in advance for everything and for your kind help ;)

    With the best regards,

    Rfsapiens.

I have a different model, so this might be different for you, but in mine I need to install the ArcSoft Webcam Companion.

    Hello,

Thank you for your kind reply :)
Does this work even if the device is not listed on device manager (not even as a yellow unknown one) ?

    Regards,

    Rfsapiens.

Honestly, can't remember. I do remember scratching my head trying to figure out how to work it. In your case it might be the VAIO Movie Creator.

    Hello people,

sorted out :D the webcam is working again... :D After reconnecting several times and even swapping the cables as I mentioned before I booted with Hirens Boot CD with a Mini XP and the USB 2.0 Camera appeared on it's device manager so I went back to windows 7 and made sysprep generalize and voilá it appeared on the device manager also as installed.
The only issue left is the screen which I'm affraid to change but I don't know if the suction cup trick will definitely work to eliminate the whiter areas.
    What do you think?

    With the best regards,

    Rfsapiens.
