    Hello
I just bought a new screen this week for my daughters laptop its a Sony Vaio..I replaced the broken Screen with the new one and nothing happens..Before I removed the broken screen it did work although the screen had cracks in it, the screen would still turn on and function .. So thinking I might have a bad screen in the new one, I hooked the old one back up to see if it would still turn on but now it want..Thinking it might be a bad LVDS Cable I started my search for the cable and read in a different forum..

''Quote'' Sony's VPC models likes to disable the back-light when a panel replacement is detected. The Video IO can be reset to enable the back-light but only Sony has such means to do so.

Would anyone have an idea, pointers or fix on this other than giving Sony more money for repairs...

    Computer Model # : VPCE24FM/L
Thanks for any Help or advice
