Hello, i was wondering if anyone could help me with the following problem with my laptop:

When the charger is removed, the laptop shutsdown instantly. I have just collected it back from the computer repair shop, they couldnt fix the problem; they tried a new battery and this still didnt fix it.
The battery icon in the bottom right is at 96% and isnt changing.
When attempting to perform updates via the Vaio updater, it fails due to the following ' A power supply is not detected. Connect the AC adapter to avoid a power shortage during the download and installation. Try again after connecting the power supply.

As stated in title, the laptop is a sony vaio VPCF13Z1E

    Any help much appreciated.

    Jonathan.

There might be a short circuit happening when you remove the charger or something causing it to instantly shut down, check to make sure there aren't any bent pins in the battery compartment.

The problem is on the motherboard, and I am not sure if you are be able to DIY.
There is something wrong in charging circuit on the motherboard and it needs to be fixed.
