    Hello, friends.

I have a Sony Vaio VPCSA. On the display rack at CompUSA store in South Texas where I purchased it, there was a huge cardboard poster claiming "Up to 14 hours battery life, with optional sheet battery." I kid you not.

I have done everything I have found on line to do, including lowering screen intensity and CPU speed, and the most I have ever been able to get is 8 hours. I have the optional sheet battery installed. It does not matter if I boot in Windows 7 or 64-bit Ubuntu Linux, it is the same battery-wise. I have also gone into the BIOS to see if perhaps I may be missing something there. Any ideas here would be appreciated. I have a really long trans-Pacific trip coming up soon, so I am interested in this subject.

I do mostly simple word processing, Bible software and some page layout stuff.

    Thanks in advance!
