Hi all.
I've ordered and get the new Vaio Z 2011.
As my expericence in Vaio laptop, I tried to go to Bios menu and enable VT (Virtualization Technology ) in Bios menu to ensure the Vmware working correctly.
After that when I boot the windows and open vmware, I still get the issue from vmware to say that the chip and Bios support VT but we still cannot open the guest operation system (Windows 2008 x64).
Any one have vmware work on Vaio Z 2011? Also windows 2008 x64?
Please advise

Run this first:
Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - HAV Detection Tool
Then install XPMode and see if that works.
Which version of Windows have you got? I have a feeling that you need Professional or better. -
I have installed VMWARE but I didn't have time to install new machines.
I have installed XP mode and it works properly. -

I'm currently using Windows 7 Pro x64 . Out of the box from Vaio Z.
I still get the same issue with vmware when open windows 2008 x64.
"You have configured this virtual machine to use a 64 bit guest operating system. However, 64 bit operation is not possible. This host is VT-capable but VT is disable"
It looks strange because I was enable the VT in Bios settings. And turn off and start the PC again. -
You might be missing a couple of files.
For running XPMode, you need:
WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe
Windows6.1-KB977206-x64.msu
VirtualPC-Windows6.1-KB958559-x64.msu
Read about it here.
Download Windows XP Mode
If you can get this to work, create a virtual machine in VirtualPC and install Server 2008 from disc.
Once you have all the bugs ironed out, you can give VMWare another shot if you want to.
You can also go to control panel> programs and features> turn windows features on or off and enable Virtual PC. Then let Windows Update do its thing. -
Be aware that virtualisation won't run on virtualisation. In your case certain Server 2008 features like Hyper-V will not work. Better to try dual-booting for that.

Many thanks. I still cannot make it work with vmware. I guess the problem come from vmware itself.
