    Hi all,

Have recently got a new vaio Z (2012, SV-Z1 version) and like lots of web reviewers am loving it all except the touchpad. I actually don't find it too bad but one issue is annoying, mainly the two finger scrolling. When I put my fingers on the pad a little too low, so they start on the buttons (which are totally flush with the pad), it is only seen as a one finger touch, so the cursor gets moved up. Even when my fingers move up completely on to the pad itself, the one finger touch continues so the cursor continues to the top of the screen. I then have to move the cursor down again, and take care to start the 2 finger scroll from above the buttons.
As the pad is so small, this makes scrolling up really tedious as half the time the problem will occur.

The same issue never occurs when I start two finger scrolling from above the _top_ of the pad - as soon as my fingers come down onto the pad it is interpreted as a two finger touch and the screen is scrolled properly.

I cannot find anywhere in the synpatics settings to adjust this behaviour - but because of the discrepancy between behaviour at the top and the bottom of the pad I suspect it is a driver bug rather than hardware and can hopefully be programmed out.

Due to the small size of the touchpad and lack of tactile difference between the buttons at the bottom of the pad and the pad itself, it is a big annoyance. Anyone else had this issue and figured out a way around it?

    thanks
    Jon
