Hello guys, i am researching many options for a laptop for college. I decided i wanted to go all out and buy the best. My question, will this SSD hold up for 4 years? No Trim makes me worried; however, i hear the software on the SSD cleans the SSD and keeps performance up.
Would this be a good buy?

I'm sure the SSD will hold up for 4 years unless you constantly write and delete from it. Regular use should be fine. Regarding the TRIM, it's been shown in a few threads in this forum that there's some background garbage collecting going on which means you really don't need TRIM. It's like if magically someone emptied all your trashcans every night, would you freak out if there was no waste disposal services in your area? TRIM is a tool, but if the job's already being done, then you don't need it. -
Unless you do TONS of writing to the ssd on a daily basis, you'll be fine. The internal GC is supposed to be pretty good. I've seen it in action on my 256GB Samsung in my Envy 14 even.
Just turn off write cache and use your computer as you normally would. Should easily last you 4 years.
