I'm looking to configure a Vaio Z series on the Sony Style UK web site but i've noticed that the speed of the memory on the configurable models is slower at 800 MHz compared to 1066 MHz on the ready made models even though both come with DDR3 SDRAM. Why is the speed of the memory slower on the configurable models compared to the ready made models? Is it a misprint?
Also does anyone know if the Windows Vista Ultimate option on the configurable models on the UK site is 32 bit or 64 bit? It doesn't say anywhere on the web site.

1. That's is just a mistyping. All Z modell have DDR3 = 1066 Mhz memory rams.
2. It's 32-bit Vista Ultimate. -
Will the 32 bit Vista Ultmate use all the 4GB of Ram?
-
No, it'll not. It uses about 3.5 gb ram only.

It's annoying how Sony still doesn't offer it as standard. Most likely the bloatware isn't 64-bit compatible
I just buy my machines with 4Gb when offered either way, but if you're only going to run 32-bit then the 3Gb option may save you some money. -
Sony Style UK offer a Vista 64 bit option for the FW series but not the Z series even though it's the more expensive system. What's that all about? So it can't be to do with the bloatware being incompatible.
Why do they bother offering 4GB of Ram and a 32 bit operating system which won't use all the 4GB of memory, that's just dumb! On the Sony Style US site they offer a 64 bit option for the Z Series but as usual the UK is behind and slow to catch up! -
On a side note are the 2.93 ghz proccesors on the configurable models on the Sony Style UK site the Core 2 Duo P9800 2.93Ghz or are they one of the T series Core 2 Duo processors with higher TDP.
