Don't know why you decided to start a new thread when several people already answered your question in your previous thread.

Turn on your webcam and check the settings for yourself, Stalvros. If 640 x 480 is the highest you can go, then it is 0.3MP.

actually i wanted to create this thread partly because
    i hear that someone has a Z that's 1.3MP as well

It's the same as TZ series.
I know some who has 0.3 and some who has 1.3
I really dont know why SONY has to make their product so different =_=

I believe every TZ and Z has a 640*480 camera.

Yes, it's just that some Sony marketing blurb quotes 1.3MP incorrectly, and this has been repeated elsewhere. Bit annoying.

Same as when they quoted the Z as having DDR2 RAM on some Sony sites and it caused many questions along the lines of "how come some Z series have DDR2 and some have DDR3?".

I wish Sony would sort out their marketing people. I mean, surely it can't be too hard to double check a spec sheet before publishing?

yes, that is actually another thing i wish to ask.
Well, now that we know that its DDR3, there's another
question i wish to ask (instead of making another thread)

What's this about the Z being able to support up to 4gb
but Vista 32 but only recognises up to 3gb instead?
Is this true? That means I need to get Vista 64 bit for
    4gb DDR3 to be recognised?

Yup !! that's true vista 32 bit can't use more than 3.2 Ram and if u want more go for vista 64 bit !!

and about the camera it's 1.3 coz u can capture image with 1.3 MP and video with 640*480 (VGA) resolution !

Just to add to this... the advantage of 4GB over 3GB for most people is negligible. There's a slight performance boost due to dual channel but it'll be very slight. Also, most normal usage/applications would not use 4GB even if it was addressable by the OS. So don't stress yourself installing 64bit - sometimes drivers can be tricky to find - if you don't have a good use for it, is my advice. ;)
But as far as I know, the 1.3MP image is interpolated from VGA sensor, so it's more 'honest' to call the camera 0.3MP. ;)

I agree that it's a 0.3MP camera molecule. The image can be enlarged by software to 1.3MP. Actually I play around the camera and I only see VGA option.

2GB ram with Vista is enough under most normal usage, you don't even need readyboots. The only time I see a benefit of redayboots is when I try to run WOW on my TZ. It does help a little bit, less lag.
For me, unless the majority switches to 64bit. I don't want to get into trouble with 64bit drivers, specially on a VAIO.

    Hi back, Stalvros. :)

Forget about the webcam for now and get started on your clean/semi-clean install. ;)

    lol thx
nah im just curious with the camera

ok, so finally can i say that
    camera -> 1.3MP
    video -> 0.3MP

also, im contemplating to clean install now.
What happened is that i want to install the new WIndows 7 thingy but if possible 64 bit one? I wanna purchase the additional 2gb DDR3 to make it 4gb DDR3 as well.

But now what i want to know is
1st - anyone with the website to download FULL complete drivers for the Z? I went to that other thread but some drivers are not official and also, the instructions are all over the place XD

2nd - you need some sort of KEY to install Windows 7?
you cannot use the one that's already pasted below your Z?
    (your vista serial key)

    I ALREADY told you
ALL of the drivers are on Sony's official support web site.
and ALL of the drivers are on the recovery discs too.
Did you even read my post?
