    Hi all

To my utter disappointment few days before placing my order they have all disappeared from the UK website. Where they all gone? have they been discontinued again?

any german speakers can tell me if they are still offering them on their sony website, google translate seem to indicate that you can, but i have a feeling that its not translating the part where it says this item is no longer available.

Does anyone know any other website that still offers them preferably the glossy carbon with 512GB SSD - 8GB ram and quad core. From my understanding I cant order from any other sony store website unless you have a cred card registered from that country, which is stupid.

I just cant go back to any other laptop after you have tried the Z, the specs are out of this word for the form factor. If sony dont make a direct replacement they are being stupid, dont change anything.

when I ring sony they tell me that its been discontinued but there will be a replacement in april-may-june time frame, but I don't believe their customer reps, they don't seem very clued in.

    I feel gutted :(

i dont want lenovo, Samsung or dell only sony :(

I might have to try and import one from japan again, but its a pain in the going down this route.

    thanks all

The German Sony store still has the CTO version, but only with limited options. And as you said, you can only order if you have a German address (not sure about the credit card).

You could check the Sony Outlet. According to reports, most of the machines there are basically new.

Another option is to look for a preconfigured model. I suppose some web shops still have them. Here are some model number numbers that you could search for: SVZ1311A4E, SVZ1311B4E, SVZ1311C5E, SVZ1311M9EX, SVZ1311S8EX, SVZ1311S9EX, SVZ1311X8EX, SVZ1311X9EX, SVZ1311Z8EX, SVZ1311Z9EX

Or you could go to a Sony shop and ask them if they can find one for you.

Check the outlet, they had some left.

A German CC is not required, only an address for orders via sony.de
Z is no longer available in Germany as of today or yesterday (I looked it up on Thursday, it was still there).

How would you get it from Japan?

CTO version of Z is still available on the German site.

You can order from Japan for example through Conics or Dynamism. Dynamism, however, doesn't offer any Vaios currently.

Not for me, when I got to Z page, it tells me: "Händler vor Ort suchen" (find a retailer), which means it cannot be configured :( It is not available on Sony Outlet Germany either.
It IS available at Sony UK Outlet still though.

    Thanks!

Strange. What if you open this link? The tab says "0 Modell(e) gefunden", but the CTO Z is still there and I can click on the "Konfigurieren" button and configure it. Some options (512GB SSD, PMD, etc.) are missing, though.

Ah, that one works... (I didn't check since the Models tab, since it says 0)
