    Hi there good folks...

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my Sony Vaio Z3 and I'm experiencing some difficulties...

First of all, my touchpad just doesn't work as "advertized" - I was hoping someone here had solved that issue and could give me the answers I'm seeking...

Second, my 4G LTE doesn't work... And Ubuntu only lets me choose 3G under modem options, not 4G (LTE). Anyone here got 4G working on Ubuntu 12.04?

Well, those are my issues with Ubuntu 12.04 on the Sony Vaio Z3.

Other than that, removing the recovery-partition to make room for Ubuntu was a hassle... Making RAID work on Ubuntu was a hassle... But, that's solved and Ubuntu is installed and 3D works, both with the Intel card (although no 'proprietary' drivers are installed for the Intel card...) and the AMD card (proprietary drivers found and installed).

Anyway, thanks for any and all contributions in making the Sony Vaio Z3 Linux compatible...

    EDIT: So what works:

    -Install on ~20GB Raid-0 partition
    -Sound
    -Screen
-Keyboard (even Fn keys and shortcuts - brightness, audio etc.)
    -Graphics (Both Intel and AMD)
    -PMD (Diskdrive, USB, etc.)
    -Wireless LAN
    -Bluetooth
-Touchpad (yet, major problems here... no right-click, and bottom area (clicking area) is touchsensitive to move the cursor...

    What does not work:
Built-in-LTE modem (at least I can't get it working...)

Did you install the 64bit ubuntu? 32bit is better for drivers i've heard

Yes, I installed the 64-bit version.

Can't be running a 32-bit OS on a computer with these awesome specs :)

Doubt it'd make a difference but try 32bit ubuntu by putting it on a bootable USB and see if that works
