Hello!
I have a Sony Vaio VPCCW1E8R.
I needed to do a BIOS reset and after BIOS reset
via unpluging the CMOS battery main battery is
not detected anymore.
Battery is original one and was working very well
until BIOS reset. Bios version is the latest from sony website.
Laptop will not power up with battery inserted, but it works
with battery out.
Thank you!

Try updating the bios again? Maybe it reverted to an old version somehow?
Otherwise, go into the bios and restore default settings.
At which point exactly does the boot procedure halt? -
I had the same issue for quite some time.
I tried all fixes in the internet.
the only thing i did not try was to install some updates for bios not from Sony as well as mods.
i was too afraid to do so even though i did play with the bios, remove the battery ,install new system and even change to ssd from the original hdd.
also i was under the warranty , so i went to Sony service and they fixed it for me in less then five days.
they did not tell me what was the issue but they mention something about the motherboard.
so, i suggested that if you still under the warranty to go there instead of wasting time and endangering your notebook .
but try to recover the condition of your notebook ; hardware and software.
since some changes may void your warranty.
Good luck
Ali
