I already asked this question in Bogarts excellent thread/guide to downgrading the Sz650n/c to windows xp. Sorry for creating a new one but I think it's lost in there.
I followed Bogarts instructions exactly and the laptop is funning fine except for video memory. In stamina mode I only have 128MB dedicated to video memory and in speed mode, 256MB.
Is this the same for eveyone who downgraded? Does it make any difference? I would have thought not but I got some pretty poor scores in 3dmark05 benchmark test and a test I ran on Pcpitstop highlighted a video problem and poor ram performance. Any input is appreciated.

What kind of card? And I would say change it in the Bios, but Sony keeps their Bios locked down. What was your 3DMark05 score?
-
Yeah, I tried the bios settings already. It's a geforce 8400M GS, only 64MB dedicated. Was 831MB shared video memory in vista, only 256MB now in speed mode. 3DMark05 score was 2914.
Any sz650n/c owners who have downgraded to xp, please check your video memory and let me know if it's the same as mine. I'd really appreciate it. -
Isn't that about normal for the GS? I score a 4785 stock on the GT, and the GS has half the shaders, so that should be about right.

Didn't realise that it was such a weak card, should have researched it before I started the thread. Didn't buy the laptop for games anyway, have the 360 for that. It was the Pcpitstop test that made me think that something was wrong with my setup. Cheers for your help.
