    You can go to Sony Owner's lounge section and look for the Official Sony E series thread. You can find a lot of owners comments there, with all the good and bad stuff they have encountered.
    Generally its a well-built computer for the price range, the keyboard is great, and the screen has not so great viewing angle for the low res version. It's surely would satisfy your computing needs though, judging from your post.

    As a student who'd most possibly take the notebook out for lectures, group projects and such, I think you're better off with the CW series. The E series aren't known for a good battery life - special thanks to its 3500mAh battery.
