    hi lads i have another problem i removed all the files that i needed from the laptop, then i reformated my laptop but i have this annoying bootscreen that shows me two options , the first option takes my into windows the 2nd doesnt do nothing other then say this partition needs to be repaird. i deleted that second partition which was a D:/ now im stuck wid this excess link which i want to remove.

    i have just check computer management and realised that in my disk management i have 3 partitions one is for Recovery partition one is for C: and there is a unallocated parition how do i merge the C: and the unallocated partition togther? im using windows xp professional

    Do not delete the Recovery partition, It is only 8 GB. You may need it to to recover if you ever mess up your os. Also, you should make a set of recovery discs just in case you damaged your hdd.

    The unallocated partition, if it is small, I would leave it. If it is large, you can download gparted and run it. But be careful of what you do. Also, make sure you make the recovery discs before you play with gparted, just in case you wiped everything.

    so what does the gparted do for me my unallocated partition is 25gb out excluding the original 40 i have already i want to add it to my main boot C:/

    can u give me link to gparted pls ty.

    try out easeus partition manager to merge boot(c) w/ the unpartitioned free space. its free for 32 bit and great so go here: http://www.partition-tool.com/
