    Hi there!

Just ordered the VPCSA2C5E without Blu-ray player. However, I was wondering if anyone could tell me - who has the privilege of possesing a SONY Viao SA series with Blu-ray player - what model Blu-ray player is installed on this serie. Moreover, I was curious to know if you could buy this somewhere and manually install it in my laptop.

    Thanks guys!

My SA came with a Panisonic UJ242, I hope that helps. Any standard 9.5mm blu ray drive should work just fine.

That should be fine. for whatever optical drive you get you will need to transfer the bezel to it. The drive you linked will not fit correctly without transferring the bezel to the new drive.

Thanks Lazybee! So far you really helped me out there. One question though: How do I know for sure that the Eject Button is going to work for the new ODD. Which one do you recomment in order to be sure that the eject button is going to be working. The reason for asking is because I saw on Ebay that somebody who advertised an ODD for 180 dollar mentioned that the eject button does not work. Therefore if you choose that ODD you need to use a Pinn. I was like: Huuuuh. Hence, I want to be sure of the ODD to choose. Please take a look via the following link: "http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=uj+242"

    Cheers

I imagine that as long as you get this Panisonic model you should be fine. They are rather price. Have you considered avoiding all this hassle and getting an external slim blu ray drive? You could replace the current optical drive with a hard drive for more storage.

Either way, I can't say for sure but I do believe that the eject button will bre in the correct placement.

I considered buying an external driver. But I found this inconvenient because I prefer an intergrated driver. But thanks for your advice anyway! I already took a look on the internet and found this model: "http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/482434232-W500-W700-T400-T410-T420-9-5mm-Slim-4X-Blu-Ray-Burner-SATA-Drive-UJ-242-wholesalers.html"
