I have a VAIO VGB-TXN15P that came with preinstalled Toshiba Bluetooth Stack drivers, version 4.00.36.1. Toshiba has updated this driver stack TWICE now, but Sony has offered neither driver on its updates page for my machine. I need the update as it *specifically* resolves an issue I'm having with my GPS device. I asked them about this and they said, not our problem, ask Toshiba. Toshiba says it does not license to individual users, that I have to contact my computer manufacturer who put it in there, that's right, Sony. (Toshiba does offer the update to individuals on a 30-day trial basis, then it quits working.)

This is maddening. I just want my lousy driver updates. Sony put them in my machine, but now will not support them, and Sony only gives it our to manufactures. My machine is only a few months old.

    Any ideas?

So I guess your GPS device is connected via Bluetooth serial port. The fix for your problem is most likely in the new Bluetooth driver for the bluetooth serial port. An update of this driver should fix your problem. So I think toshiba will not charge you for the new driver. Just ask them for help or try it by your own. Install the working version and backup the installed drivers. Install your version and update it with the new backup drivers.

I'm having no lucj with Bluetooth and my Treo 650. It sees it and will pair and trade keys. But beyond that forget it. DUN internet access works via USB, but not bluetooth (both using usbmodem app). Same with syncing the Treo, works via USB, not bluetooth.

If you figure out how to get better drivers on there let me/us know.

search for threads about replacing the Toshiba drivers with WidComm drivers. Mine work great!
