I am currently have sony VGN-Z591U with 320GB 5400rpm HD
I just bought a new 500GB 7200rpm Seagate HD and I plan to change my laptop harddrive with this new Seagate HD.

    My question is,
After I install the new HD, can I use the Recover back up DVD that I created using my old HD ?
Will the recovery back up DVD will recognized my new 500GB HD and will automatically install all the Windows and driver for my laptop?

    Thank You

tell me if u get -

    1. a long battery life ?
    2. overall faster windows ?
    3. and how about sound/vibrations coming from the hardrive thoughout the laptop?

thanks! I was about to change my to a 500gb wd but heard it had quite a loud vibration when installed -.- let me know how the seagate goes

320gb Toshiba in our laptop suck ! so slow !

the 500gb seagate is faster, more quiet, and uses less energy than the 500gb wd

seagates are currently the best drives available with the 500gb 7200rpm seagate beating every other drive in basically all categories

That is simply put not true. If comparing the 7200 RPM Seagate 7200.3 to a 5400 RPM Scorpio Blue, sure the 7200 RPM drive might win in some cases. But not all. And the Scorpio Blue uses less energy according to Tom's Hardware. But that's comparing apples to oranges.

To compare apples to apples, you need to compare with a 7200 RPM drive -- the Scorpio Black.
Like they did for 320 GB drives here.
