I have the Z820D and the fan noise is loud even on STAMINA mode with the SILENT power profile in use. It is louder than any laptops I've owned so far so I'm a little concerned right now. I'm not sure if i should take it to a sony store and have them look at it to see if the fan noise is normal. Comments or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks

Did u get the laptop just recently?

If not, was the fan noise less bad before?

I've had a z555 and never had the problem you're describing. Is there a temperature issue? Might be worth taking thermal measurements?

Make sure the air intakes aren't clogged up. That will make the fans work overtime to push the same amount of air.
