Hello. I have a Sony VGN-Z36GD. I am having problems with my sound. When I try and record something all I get is a hissing sound when I play it back. When I use Skype I can hear the person I am talking to but they cannot hear me. My laptop says everything is working yet it is not. Can anyone offer any help please. Thank you

As far as Skype goes try the following test:
Go to TOOLS > OPTIONS > AUDIO SETTINGS > MAKE A FREE TEST CALL
About a week ago my wife SKYPE developed the same problem as yours.I
uninstalled > reinstalled SKYPE and things went back to normal.
