When playing BC2 the graphics are constantly tearing and flickering and sometimes the walls show up when they aren't supposed to be there.

Because we have hybrid graphics drivers we are unable to updated to the latest drivers as desktop users can so I sort of found a solution to this problem.

Manually set your DX version to 9 in the BC2 settings.ini
The ini can be found in my documents\bfbc2\
    Change DxVersion=Auto to DxVersion=9

I get a solid 40 FPS on 1280x800 @ medium detail. Make sure HBAO is off and I also turn my shadows to low.
    1x AA and 4x AF

    Gluck!

I don't enable mine but that is up to you.
I like to benchmark my games by using fraps while I play.
    http://www.fraps.com/

This program shows your real time frame rate in the corner of your screen.
Thats how I tweak my settings to get a good frame rate.

yes but vsync should prevent the tearing (provided the fps is higher than the refresh rate).

Sorry vsync doesn't solve the issues with this game and our drivers.
This game has major issues with gpus, even my ATI 4870x2s had issues with this game.
