Guys,
I just bought a new Sony Z116 and love it, the picture quality and speed of this computer compared to my MB Air is awesome. Anyway I don't know if it is a apple thing but since i have installed iTunes on my Vaio (I have a iphone so need iTunes) iTunes is incredibly SLOW, example I want to make a ringtone in iTunes and if I right click on a song to get the songs info it can take 30 seconds to give me that info, normally on my MBA it is instantaneous.
One last thing I bought the Vaio bluetooth mouse and it keeps loosing its signal and I have to reboot to get it again (frustrating)
Anyway any help would be much appreciated

IMO, iTunes is horrible bloatware that also sneak-installs other software (like quicktime and safari) and umpteen background processes (like Apple's DRM, auto-updaters and dial-home-and-tell-uncle-steve-about-what-each-user-plays) that contributes greatly to the bloat.
My advice is to go with something leaner. foobar2000 has worked well for me, but YMMV. -
I need it for my iPhone

What power mode are you in.... Balanced or Performance? iTunes is a total CPU hog, and if it's not on performance, then it's noticeably slower for me.
EDIT: On mac, the code is WAYY more optimized, and since Quicktime is a core part of MacOS then iTunes will naturally run like butter on a Mac. -
I dont have a "balanced or performance" option on my Z what I have is auto or Stamina??

Just go in the configuration panel>Windows mobility center
Under the battery you can choose between performance configs from windows : "economy" "balanced" "performance"
You can custom this configs. -
tiunes is slow on all pc's. I would bet apple codes it that way on purpose.

iTunes "launches" slowly on all PCs, regardless of hardware. But after you start it up, it should be the same as Macs.
-
It does not operate any where nearly as quickly as it does on macs. Running osx in a virtual machine itunes is still way faster than it is in windows.

Contrary to what Apple tells you, you don't have to use iTunes for transfers. Sharepod, for example, can sync directly without iTunes installed.
Or, you could jailbreak your phone, and avoid the whole attempted lockdown altogether. -

Exactly. You still have your Speed/Stamina, but Windows still has Power Saver, Balanced, and Performance that can be changed in whichever mode you're in. It's kinda redundant, but it's there.
Correct also. It takes a minute or two to launch, but even on my single-core, hyperthreaded Atom Z520, the get info screen comes up near instantaneously. To the OP, have you looked in the task manager to see whats going on when iTunes feels really slow?
