The wireless on my Z12 would not turn on for awhile (the switch was on, but the green light would not come on) and I had no internet access.

I uninstalled both the Network Controller (Intel 6200) as well as the Network Adapter (Intel gigabyte) to try and fix this issue and now I can't seem to reinstall either one back for internet! I got the drivers from the Sony website after looking up my model, and the Gigabyte adapter installs just fine but even after plugging in a working Ethernet cable with a good connection, I can't get internet (it says I have internet - but it doesn't work).

The green light on the my wireless turns on now, but I've tried to install the drivers (original and updated ones) and it still won't install properly. When I go to device manager, the Network Controller shows a yellow exclamation mark. And yes, I did try to install the device while I had the switch off as the manual says, that's a no go.

I don't have an external hard drive with my currently so I cannot back up my data (away from home for awhile) but I desperately need internet. I'm not too familiar with using the "Restore" discs and options, but I hear that will wipe your data. Any suggestions?

You have Intel NIC for both wire and wireless, and then you should go to Intel site to download their drivers and install it.
I believe it should work by then.

Sorry I'm not sure what that means, what's Intel NIC?

Also, I don't have internet whatsoever, so how do I access the site?

I did that. I got the drivers from Sony's official site and I they are the ones matching for my Z12. But like I said, even after trying to install them they are not recognized in the device manager.

NIC just means a network card.
Do you see both network card (wire and wireless) in device manager?
If you don't have internet, how you could respond to this thread :)

I see both, yes. The network card (wire) is installed properly but when I plug in the ethernet cable (which I use on other machines just fine), it says I have internet on the bottom right but I can't access the internet.

As for the wireless network controller, it will not install, and it will not work. I've been accessing the internet over my smart phone.

Sounds like it's time to restore the machine. Back up your stuff, power it down and boot it up using the assist button instead of the power button.
