Turns out people on SD were buying like 10 Z13s at a time. -
I wonder if I would've pulled the trigger... I'm not even sure.
-
that's really cheap, didn't last long though, now it's back to 1599

But can you get an order placed? Mine does not get past the 1st page.

dead again

It seems to be coming in and out of stock at the $999 price point. This is nothing new with Microsoft. They generally allocated only so many units at a certain price. So if people cancel orders or they time out, it frees up machines at that price again. Either that or they find more. When they did the Z12 blow out, they literally shut things down so they could do a physical inventory in the warehouse. Then they came back with a bunch more machines they said they "found".
Anyways, the best thing to do is to check it from time to time and then jump right on it. -
^^^ Seems like the case. It is still available for sale now at the $1,599 price & the following is the Microsoft store message when placing the notebook in the cart:
"Sorry—this discount code has already been used the maximum number of times. You can buy more, but they will be at the regular price." -
-
I thought I had finally managed to get such a deal for once. I had managed to get one of those notebook into my cart at the $999 price earlier today & I got to the last step of checkout before they charge the card and the price was raised back to $1,599.Although I hate to admit that it s**ks, but I guess s**kers like me are just destined to have to pay the full price every time.
What really pisses me off is that if I had been successful, I would have kept it for my own use, unlike some of those buyers who simply tried to snag as many as they can get their hands on & sell them on ebay for profit.
I can only hope that next time I'll be lucky & finally get my first significant discount instead of the usual meager 5%-10% that everyone are easily able to get. -
I was in front of my computer 40 minutes refreshing the page...but i guess it was worth it.
Btw, I only purchased one - for my personal use. Upgrading from the TZ. -
I'm waiting for Microsoft to realize that the VPCZ134GX is just the VPCZ133GX with mobile broadband built in and put that on sale too. I can dream, can't I?

To avoid confusion for others, both the Z133 & Z134 were released at the same time.
However, I understand what you're saying. It seems like MS is trying to keep just one VAIO Z model in their offerings & in their case, it looks like they prefer to keep the more upgraded model, Z134 (whose only "upgraded" part as extragooey had mentioned is the addition of the GPS/WWAN modem).

It was a nice deal. Does it happens every Feb at M-Store? I mean such discount for Z?

Microsoft has a lot of half off sales. Some last a while, some last a few minutes. It depends on how fast people find out and how many get sold. There are only a set number. It seems to be more than 10 but less than a 1000. Probably a few hundred at a time.
The best deals are in store if you have a local store. They will match the online price and they have the occassional $150 GC if you buy a laptop bonus. -
Oh. Don't forget to trade in old cell phones for $25 each, limit of 2, if you do this in store. Better than throwing them away.
-
there's also a student discount if you have a .edu email.
-
The Sony X was $599. I thought they blew these all out last year. It's OOS now. It also qualifies for the Sony $300 tradeup.

Maybe a little bit off the topic, but what's "cashback"? The site looks more like a rip-off-site rather than trustworthy.
Besides that, are those offers (Microsoft) available for Europe as well?
EDIT
Seems like these offers are just available in the US -
That site is legit. Regardless, they don't give cashback, they just list all the sites that do. -
Looks like Z13 is back in stock at Microsoft store. But for 1599 bones.
