    Hi everyone,

Ok. I think I've narrowed down my search and will probably settle with the Sony Z1WA with 1.7 GHz Pentium M. Does anyone have thoughts on this machine? Are there options that I need to get on it?

I've read that this computer comes will a bunch of things already installed that hurt its performance. Is this true? How do I avoid this?

I need to get MS XP Pro. Are there foreseeable complications in installing this?

Finally, where is a good place to buy? I've been to CompUSA, is there a good place online? Or a good place to customize this computer?

Thanks so much for all of your help! I'll be looking forward to hearing what some of you have to say.

    Dan

I just picked up my Z1 from the Sony store in Toronto yesterday. Be careful! I asked them for the WAMP1 version with XP Pro - they charged me for the WAMP1 but gave me a WA (XP Home)! I had to treck all the way back to exchange it. They were pretty appologetic but did not offer to 'do anything' for my inconvenience.

About the machine....I think I am in love!
