Hi
I would like to purchase a Z590 which is currently configured with a SSD Raid of 60GBX2
I was hoping I could break the raid configuration and use one SSD for OS and other for data.
But 60gb for data might be less. Can I replace both SSDs with
1 2.5" SSD and 1 250 GB standard SATA notebook hard drive?
If it takes some special kind of SSDs can you name they type? I am guessing it would be a standard SATA SSD without the covers.

hi, i think the sdd cable for the 2x64 GB Raid will be different from a standard 2.5' drive SATA try and look for the Z dissemble diagram in this forum, you can see that the 2x ssd raid have a different set of cable from a standard hdd one. If your planning to upgrade your SSD, i think you should just get a standard Z with 320 HDD and later replace it with an intel/OCZ or Kingston SSD and if you are willing to tinkle more, change your optical drive with an HDD one.

The raid 0 in Z is made up with 2 x 1.8" SSD without covers.

Ok Thanks. This is helpful. Do you know if replacing the 2nd SSD with a Toshiba 1.8" 250gb HDD is possible in terms of thickness?

i think it would be hard to do so. Take a look at this picture:
