    Well, based on various forums/posts etc that I have read about dead pixel policies of different brands, I really doubt if 1 dead pixel will warrant an exchange (or screen change). I guess for Sony upto 5-7 dead pixels are considered acceptable (which is very sad really)!

    I had a Compaq Presario before my Sony. It had 2 dead pixels. I took it to an HP Service center in India and they promptly replaced my screen; I was quite surprised (and pleased too :)

    Check out: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2211 for various companies' policies on dead pixels.

    There are totally 4 sz premium in the store when I pick up mine.
    However, one with a hot spot & one got a dead spot.

    you may need to check carefully if you can/allow exchange to another one!

    i'm in the netherlands and was sure to buy from an online
    store which sells defective pixel warranties; allows you to
    return the laptop within 8 days if there's a defective pixel;
    you'll get a new one in return.

    the sony site says that there's a very small chance that
    new defective pixels will develop during the lifetime of a
    screen/laptop, but they can't guarantee 0 defective ones.
