I was at the SonyStyle Store in Boston today looking at the TZ models, and the sales guy mentioned that they will support a "downgrade" to XP sometime in the next two months. I didn't ask more about it as I plan to make my purchase sooner...

They have released the downgrade drivers for the TZ1/TZ2.

Really where? From what I have heard, Sony especially won't support XP on their newer computers, like it doesn't even exist to them. This is an interesting development if its true.
-
Can anyone back this?

The complete xp drivers and applications are already available. With the crappy performance (especially with the 4200 rpm hd) of the tz running vista, it makes sense for sony to support xp.

What I heard is they will have an options to downgrade some of there model to XP but there no definite time there going to release it. What they only can support is the one came with them or with the computer like upgrade disk of vista for the xp but if you're going to used a retail version of xp and vista they dont support it. HERE SOME DOWNGRADE DRIVER OF SOME VAIO MODELS
Sony apparently will support XP for TZ
