    Hi,

How long are sony batteries of the tz made available for purchase? I'm worried that it may be difficult to find new oem batteries 3 years down the line when the old battery dies.

i wouldn't worry too hard about that. sony makes a LOT of money off of batteries, probably more than they make on an entire machine. :) have you checked the sony site to see if some batteries for older machines are still available?

then there's always the option of 3rd party batteries, which are often times of higher capacity and quality than OEM.

Just along those same lines does anyone know if there are any 3rd party batteries available for the TZ at the present time and if so where can we get them. Anyone had any good/bad experiences with particular 3rd party manufacturers?

I checked the sony site, and it seems that batteries up to TX series are still being sold. None for the T series.

I tried searching Non oem batteries for Tz but none can be found.

I've been very satisfied with my HI-CAPACITY brand extended battery that I bought on Amazon.com from DSMiller.

I bought the 13000 mAh (96200 mWh) battery for my TX, and it lasts a good 9 hours with the screen at 7/9 brightness using wifi on VAIO Maximum Battery power setting. It even reports in RmClock that the manufacturer is Sony Corp.
