I was looking at warranties for sony laptops since i bought mine from ebay and came across this website which is def cheaper than if bought directly from sony and some websites even charge more than sony

its just the warranty itself, you'll get the warranty packet which you register to your laptop and its immediately covered
i think im going to get the 2 year accidental since its $70 cheaper than sony ($130)
4 year reg warranty (without accidental) for $108
scroll down to see all they have

If the extended warranty is not through ServiceNet then Sony will not recognize it and insist you go through your third-party warranty provider for support and repairs.
With ServiceNet they will recognize the warranty and route you through servicenet to set up a claim after which servicenet will send you directly to sony tier 2 support for troubleshooting and service. -
the warranty is just the warranty package - like hp does, you recieve it in the mail (i have done this) then you sign it up on sony.com and enter the package serial number, etc and then you warranty is registered to your computer
meaning sony will recognize it because its sony warranty, not a third party - and newegg also sells it, its just the package oficially from sony as shown in the picture:

Sony extended warranties - much cheaper if bought elsewhere
