    Hi all,

I want to upgrade my laptop hard disk to 2 TB. I am planning to buy WD20NPVX (Western Digital), which is of 15mm height. At the moment I have a hard disk of height 9.5 mm. Can I replace existing one with 15mm one?.

My laptop is sony sve17135cgb. Sony E Series laptop.

Could you please help me with an idea.

    Thanks

Get a piece of wood or thermocoal or something similar and make a block of the given dimensions. Put it in place of the HDD and see if you are able to close the cover. Be aware that HDDs do not like pressure being applied to the top and bottom surfaces. If it is too tight a fit, you could actually damage the drive.
