Are there roadmaps or trends for refreshing or updating the vaio laptops?

I'll be purchasing a new laptop come June and I'm really interested in what Sony has to offer. I would really like to see the GPU updated to the new ATI 4000 series, maybe a 2mp camera and led lcd screen

thanks for any feedback, I know its just a matter of the waiting game (which never really ends) but I already see Asus pumping out laptops with new tech, and HP, tho terrible quality  for 2009

You'll probably see the biggest refreshes this Fall when Intel releases their new chipset. That's when the biggest things will happen among all manufacturers. Other than that, I'd expect with the current economic climate that Sony will just refresh what they have a couple times until then.

well its good to hear that they will do smaller refreshes. honestly I don't new a brand new design for a laptop, I think the current FW and AW series look fantastic, its the old tech GPU thats bugging me

The FW is need for an LED 1080p screen. Although, they will most likely go to a new line with DDR3, eSATA, DisplayPort, etc.

Sony tends to release or announce new notebooks in the third quarter.

Forget Core 2 Quads, Clarksfield 45nm quad core based on the Calpella (Nehalem) platform will be out by October.
