Sony slashed the base price of FW190CTO by $150. Previous base price was $1059, now it is $909. They are phasing out FW190 series. This is your last chance to get FW190CTO. This is the only FW model, besides pre-configured FW198UH, that you can choose with HiColor at 1600x900. If you don't like FW200 series because you can't have HiColor at 1600x900, this is your last chance to get what you want. Order it now before it is too late.

Faster video card may also mean more heat? From what I've read as it is now it can get quite warm on the lap ... or maybe they've made some improvements and it will run cooler ... wait and see I guess.

Sony now dropped the base price of FW190 even further. The base price now is $818, instead of $909 just 2 weeks ago. Moreover, they also dropped the price for upgraded components. The T9600, for example, costs $450, instead of $500. Bluray Burner costs $270, instead of $300. It costs me $1934 when I ordered FW190 just 2 weeks ago. Now it would have cost me $1718. I would have saved $216.

Let's see if I could call them and ask them to give me credit for $216 + sales tax. If they don't, I might threaten to refund the notebook.

But the thing is, I am not sure if I would want to keep FW190. If I ask for credit, they may not allow me to return the notebook later.

The price for me is still $909 for me. I just ordered a 190CTO a couple days ago, so I want a price match if it goes down as well.

Lol, it was a glitch on Sony site. The discounted price was in the site for about 2 hours before they fixed it. Lucky for those who catch it and ordered it.

    just an update here...

My CTO price match was initially rejected: "The price drop accomodation does not cover CTO machines".

My machine was still within the return period so I requested that I am either given a concession or a prepaid RMA.
