I would like to buy a Sony laptop battery on ebay and upon correspondence with the seller he claims that to date he has sold many Sony laptop batteries and all Sony laptop batteries, including the one I am considering buying, comes in a clear packaging.

It did not make sense for me because, although a different company, I recently purchased an original manufacturer's replacement laptop battery for my Toshiba laptop, and it came in a SEALED Toshiba manufacturer's box and the battery was bubble wrapped. (Additional details: First, the bubbles were not those small ones-- they were big; second, the battery was not randomly bubble wrapped because the bubble wrap was pre-cut to size, it had (somewhat) a pocket to enclose the battery into it neatly. In fact it was like the bubble wrap version of this one: http://images.google.com/imgres?img...rev=/images?q=cell+phone+case&um=1&hl=en&sa=G)

Also it came with instructions etc. I have just asked to the seller whether hid batteries include any documentation.

The reason I talked that long about how I received an original manufacturer's replacement part is because I assume Sony and other reputable companies would also ship their items in a condition not the same at least similar to the above-- for instance there may be a box, but it may not be sealed. For the protection of the battery, I don't say that bubble wrapping is a necessity but there has to be someway like bubble wraping that would protect the battery in transit from any damages.

Anyhow, if you can share your experiences with original Sony replacement laptop batteries you purchased in the past and if you can advise me whether I should rely on this product I will really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

PS. The seller says "The batteries are still in the factory clear packaging with the yellow tape still intact" and claims that they are brand new, never used, never charged batteries.

I bought a extended battery for my FZ at tigerdirect store for $20!. It came in a box with documentation, no bubble wrap.
