    Sony laptop has black screen

    I have a Sony Vaio vpcee23fx. When I hit the power button the light's flash and lights up like it's on but nothing else happens. the fan not running nothing starts. Could any one tell me what the problem could be? thanks

    A quick fix to try which has worked for me in the past:

    With laptop powered off, unplug AC adapter and remove battery.
    Next hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then release.
    Put battery back in, and plug in AC adapter.
    Now see if it will turn on normally.
