    Hi all,

    I have 3 laptops:
    - Dell Inspiron 1510 with ATI X1300
    - Sony VGN with NVIDIA 6200
    - Sony FS with Intel Integrated Graphics

I connected my Dell to my TV, a Samsung LCD TV 1080p with PC input and the TV shows the Dell's screen with no problem. I then connected my Sony VGN to the TV, always selecting LCD+VGA options, but NOTHING is shown on the TV. I tried it with the FS laptop and the same thing. The Samsung TV reported that there is NO SIGNAL coming out from the laptops.

I then brought all my laptops to my friends place, which have a Sony LCD TV 1080p and the same thing happened!

I am not sure what's going on, but there is nothing in the Display Properties other than the FN+LCD+VGA buttons.

    Please help!

Are VGA-out for Sony laptops ONLY works with PC monitor and NOT TV? That's almost impossible though.

My TZ connects to my 1080i Plasma just fine.

    Nanaki,

DId you have to use special settings in the display properties to do so?

Also, what video card do you have in the TZ?

I use no special settings, and I believe the card is a 950.

Oh d@ng, I don't think it's my TV because the Dell works just fine with it. My friend just tried his HP laptop and works OK too.

Anyone with a VGN or FS can provide some insight?

Before my review TZ died, it was working just fine with my Sony 40v3000 lcd at home through VGA.

@ Nanaki- can you get it to output full 1920x1080 resolution when connected to the plasma? Have you tried playing 1080i video to it? Was it smooth? Curious to know.

It's only a 1080i screen, and the only resolution is lets me set it 1024 x 768.

If I was to try 1920 x 1080, I would need to play around with PowerStrip, because it is not a "supported" resolution.

I have not tried playing 1080i video on it yet.
