Do you know if any of the Sony laptops have HD 1080 resolution, hopefully with a big screen as it will be a desktop replacement? If there are none available, do you know other brands that might have it available? Thanks.

Sony has the Z and the F series that can both sport 1080p screens.

The Z series(13.1") and F series(16.4"). The Dell Studio XPS 16, the HP ENVY line and some ASUS gaming laptops also have 1080p screens. I believe one the ASUS's even have a 1920x1200(16:10) screen too.

What specifications do I need to look at to know it is a full HD screen? They don't seem to advertise it at the store sheets. So the Sony 17.3" laptop does not have full HD?

Also, does Sony screens have a regular LCD screen and also a CrystalView (I think this might be an HP term, but the screen is more glossy and vivid than regular LCD ones) screen as well?

Just look for 1920x1080 resolution, that's 1080p aka full HD ^_^. Sony display's are mostly the same. I only know that there's a difference in the F model with i7 processor (has better screen) and the F with i5 processor (worse screen).
