    Sony motherboard Security tabs?

    Can anyone tell me what these are and what they are for? they look like some sort of security tab that if not pushed down the laptop wont boot fully. but i dont know.

    They are the little gold tabs

    No one has a clue?

    They say SPR then there is a number by it , for which one it is. but no part number or anything.

    I think they are what provide the ground circuitry for the motherboard, we use similar tabs on power supplies and other circuit boards on large format printers that I install and service.

    Hmm. Think that could be why i have to put pressure on my palm rest for my laptop to boot now?

    i have a same problem, i have to put pressure on my notebook to boot, people told me that the grounding of the motherboard have to re-seat.
    i try so many way but the notebook goes still the same.

    how about yours 'dcateg'? have you found a better results?
