Sony out of availability?

So I tried to order a customized Sony Fe790 on their website (Sonystyle.com) today. It turns out the components I have selected are out of availability. I called support and they said that they have a lot of products(notebooks) which are also like that right now. They also don't have any information on it right now and said to call back in a week or two weeks.. Does anyone know when the Sony Fe790 will be in stock again? Any predictions? Is this all lost hope? How long do you think I will have to wait?(3 weeks? a month? 2 months?) Thanks everyone.

 

The components market is ever-changing. If there's a shortage it can take some time to get the supply back up. I once waited 2-3 months for a notebook because there was an LCD shortage at the time.

I would place the order so that you're at least in line for when they do get the components you need in stock--or maybe reconfigure the system so that you don't have to wait if possible.

Another option is to order a preconfigured system so that you don't have to wait.

 

Thanks for the advice. I ordered the sony vaio fe790 2 days ago from the sonystyle website customized and all..it's still "in process." Hopefully it'll come soon
