This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     After Fujitsu, Lenovo, Toshiba, Dell and Apple does Sony start a battery-recall for their batteries,too.

    From my point of view it was just a question of time, because all of the above mentioned companies have been using Sony batteries.

    Sony MANUFACTURES the batteries in those Lenovo, Dell, and Apple laptops that have been recalled. This link says nothing about a batter recall of Sony laptops. (Which we all are obviously expecting, but we need a REAL recall notice, so that we can grok the affected model numbers.)

    Sony is calling their own batteries back, too.
    OK, maybe it wasn´t the right link, but then just wait...

    Lots of eZines are mentioning it, that Sony calls the batteries for their own VAIOs back too.
