    Hi all,

Seems to be a criminal lack of mention of the e14p on here - not sure why - so here is my question:

I have the budget for either of these laptops and the 1" size difference isn't a deal breaker. So which should I get? I will be maxing out CPU, screen resolution and GPU on either configuration and adding in RAM myself.

    As I see it:

    S13P
    - Slightly smaller and lighter
    - Slightly better GPU?
    - Not plastic casing

    E14P
    - 20% cheaper
    - Quad core i7 versus dual core

So aside from the size and build, the internals seem broadly on a par as do the screens(?).

Am I missing something significant as at the moment I am leaning towards the e14p.

    Thanks for your help

    S13P have a sleeping dragon(GT640M LE) inside.
Once awaken, you will have a similar performance GPU as the GT650M DDR3. Easily.

Not sure about the 7670M overclockability.

Good point, pushes things slightly in favour of the 13P, but still not sure if that can justify the price/sheer number of 13P threads on here compared to E14P.

Any ideas on the screens - going off descriptions you would expect they are the same panel....

S13P has a matte 900p display, the E14P is glossy. The S13P is actually quite a lot lighter/thinner. CPU performance wise, the E14P with quadcore is a lot faster so if you do a lot of video editing this will be the better option. I prefer the S13P though, sheet battery option gives much longer battery life while still being lighter compared to E14P. And I'm a sucker for anything that has carbon fibre :D

I believe the Z and S series are the top of the line premium of Sony while the E and F are consumer based common laptops.

Reason E is cheaper is because you get what you pay for and i seen some E series laptops @ best buy and they feel plasticky.
