And therefore I will be considering a Sony next time around. Though I think they are pricey for what you are getting.

Cool. I have never used a Sony notebook, but I am liking the FW 160DH these days, especially with the Hi-Color screen. Bang for buck it is hardly overpriced imo at $1100 CDN including Blu-Ray (but no hi-color screen).

This is great news. Hopefully Sony provides solid competition against Dell, and they'll both knock their prices down for some aggresive free market competition.

Yeah, while dells prices are low they can go lower.

This is interesting news! Looks like 10/24 is when the site will be ready to roll!
It will be nice for peep's to be able to config a Sony, and purchase

Wait. Am I missing something? Sony's offered CTO laptops for a long time now. Just go to www.sonystyle.com.
As an aside, Dell and HP have been trying to get away from CTO laptops in order to trim prices even further. They've been trying to move toward a model where there's many preconfigured computers and the purchaser chooses one of those. -
I agree with Lithus - SonyStyle.com has had customizable laptops for a while now. Maybe this is specific to the UK/Europe?
