Hi all haven't had too much time to rummage through the hundreds of threads, and so would appreciate any assistance you may offer.
I live in the UK but bought my vaio fw140e in the states 3 years ago. It has been running great up until 1 month ago. My problem is that it will 'randomly' and 'unexpectantly' freeze! The mouse won't move, task manager is out of the question, even patients doesn't work - the only way I have found is power off and restart.
Laptop is free from viruses, I'm happy the system is clean - however my processes tab is completely rammed full of stuff. I'm leaning towards a clean OS install. Currently running vista 32bit.

My question is: do i keep my machine, build a clean install upgrading to windows 7 and buy more ram or do I spend more and get a new 64 bit laptop??

    Running: intel core duo P8400 2.26 Ghz/ 3gb ram/ 32bit/ vista sp2/ win rating 3.7

Using for: uni work (office 2010), google sketchup, catia CAD & auto desk inventor, adobe suites inc. photoshop

Any recommendations would be great! Thank you
