    I have a sony vgn sz 780 my battery does not work i have to keep my lap top pluged in at all times inorder to use it. the other day my power cable slip out and my computer just shot off immediately .

    I pluged it back in and tried to bood up . my screen is completly black there is nothing

    i replaced the harddrive and tested it. hard drive works fine
    i replaced the ram with new sticks , did not do anything

    any help will be appreciated thank you

    Hi chino x 8,

    Does the machine beep at all? Can you plug an external monitor into it and see if it displays there? Does the machine sound like it is starting up, just without the screen being on, i.e. make the windows noise? Do the power WLAN, Bluetooth or disk access lights come on?
