    Hi

Due to malfunctioning of the window of my sony vaio, I decided to do the recovery. One of my recovery disk is not wirking and at the same time recovery from the hard drive is also giving an error (error 330) when I choosed to restore the complete system.

Any suggestion how I can solve the problem will be highly appreciated.

    Regards

    goraya

You can't run complete system recovery when you run it from recovery partition.
    Just run recovery C: drive.

IF ERROR 330 IS PROBLEM WITH YOUR RECOVERY DVD

check dvd against light if there some over light spots? if DVD damaged run F10nafter logo VAIO press few times f10 and follow recover

if you not success remove HDD put new one , install new OS win 7 and after download all drivers and app from Sony web
    do you know where

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the delayed response.
Before running complete system recovery, I first tried C: recovery that didn't work either.
I tried to run recovery from F10 but didn't work and gave the msg that I told earlier (error 330).

By the way why do I need to remove my HDD? What is the ultimate option now? Will buying the new recovery discs do the magic for me?

    Regards--- Goraya

If you still have recovery partition, let try create another recovery DVD set.

I'm not sure about having recovery partion (and that too in ok status). Also in the sony vaio recovery interface, that you actually access by press f10 on starting the computer, there is no such option to make recovery DVD.
Today I again tried restore the C:drive and got message that C drive is not having enough space which is not the case as I know it has ample space. Then I tried complete system recovery that gave error 320 and then 330.

    Not sure what to do?

Also please could you let me know how to create recovery dvd in current scinario in case I have recovery partion. I think first I need to know about the recovery partioning?

    Regards--- goraya

You still have the recovery partition? Just recover from there, and skip the DVD's. Does your vaio have an assist button? If so, power down and instead of powering on with the power button, use the assist button.

^That's not a great recommended method for a novice. The sony drivers are many and require specific installation order.

Yes, I still have the recovery partion but can you tell me how to recover from there as I mentioned that C: drive recovery and the complete system recovery has already failed. My sony vaio (model no. VGN-NS21M) doesnot have an assist button.
Also from where I can download the window?
