Ok, so I'm shopping for a laptop, and it's for "school" and *cough* gaming *cough*.

Anyways, I saw the dell xps or w/e that is 3,000+ dollars and I thought, "WOW! THESE ARE AMAZING!". And....then I looked in my bank account and realized it wasn't happening, so I looked over to the vaio's. I must say....they are pretty hot....and very affordable. So I've been checking on prices and doing as much research as I can on these, but the 240's just came out, I believe, yesterday? And my question is, what is the difference between 140 and 240? And also, are all of the sz's the same in general or what? I know that you can find some with a lower/higher processor and memory and such, but I just want to fully understand what the difference is between all of these sz model numbers?

Oh, and if anyone has any suggestions on a good place to buy one of these, it would help a ton.

I just realized I vgn wrong in the topic. Oops....

Hey yeh I'm searching for a laptop for school and gaming too. I've been researching for 2 months now finding out that the Vaio is the best way to go. I'm probably hooking up with an FS Series. Check them out. Good screen, good for school, and excellent gaming, plus very stylish and affordable.

I'd also like to know the difference.

It seems as if they are just phasing in a new line of models ? Maybe minor fixes such as the spacebar issues? Im not sure, but would like to know..

The old 140's HD was 100GB, right? These new 240's have 120GB HDs.

I have been researching the SZ line, because I am planning to buy one at the end of the summer. So far the only differences I've been able to find is:

SZ110/SZ120 (customizable SZ140s) models: 100 gb hard drive

SZ220/SZ230 models: 120 gb hard drive

I dunno about the space bar on the keyboard, I might go to my local bestbuy and check it out if that problem was fix, when they have the new SZ200s in stock.

I am sure there must be some other minor changes, because all the brick and mortar computer stores in my area suddenly pulled the SZ110/SZ120 from their displays, and on their websites (eg bestbuy, circuitcity). But today when I checked the websites they had the new SZ200s... Was there some kind of secret Sony recalled of the SZ100s???
