I have a brand new nw280f with Windows 7 and I hate it. 7 that is, I want to wipe and load my XP PRO onto it. Can I do this? Will all my funtions work? The drivers on the Sony site are all for Windows 7. I want to use several of my programs and some hardware and they do not work with Windows 7. I am extremely happy with my XP and want to use it. Let me know what you think. Thanks

    Too bad to hear :p

    Yes you can.

Some of the Sony apps might not work .

You will need to hunt down the drivers on your own for sure.

How about a dual boot (XP/W7)?

Most of the info I can find is for upgrading to 7 not downgrading to XP. If you have not already looked in bios to see if you can turn virtualization on. I would do so. It you were able to do that then I would upgrade to the 7 pro or higer for xp mode. This might have better success of working.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to boot the laptop from my XP cd and was going to try a dual. I keep getting a blue screen with fatal error message. For some reason it will not let me load my XP. Any ideas?

Found my answer. My laptop has a SATA controller and XP does not work with that. So I need to slipstream a driver in. Now I need to figure out how to do this
